“Instant Improvisations”

A three-day intensive for performing artists

Improvisation is a space to radically engage in collaborative performance, choreographic thinking, and design. This workshop is for artists who want to push the edges and explore the future of art making that is physical-first.

We will focus on presence and change as the keys to working as an ensemble and composing movement with bravery. This workshop spends plenty of time moving and watching improvisation so that participants gain a spirit of play while learning in motion and support for your individual growth within the collective.

About the instructor: Adam Kerbel performs, choreographs, and teaches nationally and sometimes internationally. He draws on his experience with clown, improvisation, education and puppetry. In addition to co-founding the groundbreaking Almanac Dance Circus Theatre in 2013, he has coached and worked with ensembles in diverse mediums such as theatre, dance, opera, acrobatics, and sculptural performance.
