City of St. Louis Department of Health - The CDC Has Issued a Nationwide Health Alert of a Hepatitis Outbreak Among Young Children

The CDC has issued a nationwide health alert of a hepatitis outbreak among young children which may be caused by adenovirus. Hepatitis is an illness that affects the liver. It’s important for parents and caregivers to recognize the signs which include: vomiting, diarrhea, high fever, jaundice (yellow eyes), light stool and dark urine.  There are no reported cases in the City of St. Louis at this time but we are closely monitoring.
