St. Louis city’s 67 coaches earned an average salary of $133,115 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the second highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Missouri post-secondary schools during 2022.

St. Louis city is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Saint Louis University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $285,741.

Male coaches of men's teams received $195,080 on average in St. Louis city, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $63,663.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
